Location Banner - University Medical Center - 1625 N. Campbell Ave. Schedule Full Time - Night Shift (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) Weekends, rotations, and holidays are required. Flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% night shift differential when applicable. Training Schedule (All Full Time and Part Time) 1st Week: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM 2nd Week: Monday-Friday 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM Includes attending NEO on a Monday morning. Both BUMCT & BUMCS train together – location TBD by EVS Educator. Duties Dusting Mopping Scrubbing Disinfecting Vacuuming and polishing according to department policy and procedures Sterilization of procedural rooms, and terminal cleaning of operating rooms Position Summary This position performs all cleaning of patient rooms and/or assigned areas. Works as a member of the environmental service team to ensure safety, health, and high morale of patients, visitors, and staff by providing a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment with minimal interference. Core Functions Perform a variety of assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing, according to department policy and procedures. Plan completion of these tasks daily. Empty hampers and transport of soiled linen. Empty trash containers and remove all trash. Empty medical waste containers, including sharps. Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, hand soap, etc. Maintain cleanliness of departmental equipment and notify appropriate personnel as repairs become necessary. Protect equipment from damage by proper use; properly log out and in equipment that has been used. May perform special projects such as windows washing, wall washing, or removing heavily soiled items or furnishings. Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors. Meet or exceed goals for customer service satisfaction. Under regular supervision, this position has responsibility at an assigned facility/area only. Internal customers include facility staff, physicians, nurses, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers, and executives. External customers include visitors, patients, and employees from other companies and non‑company facilities. Minimum Qualifications Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision. Must interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions. Must communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally. Must read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for cleaning chemicals, and fill out chemical identification stickers. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital, BTMC Behavioral, and BUMG, BUMCT, or BUMCS in a Behavioral Health clinical setting that serves children must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at hire and maintain it for duration of employment. Any employees working at Olive Branch Senior Center must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of employment. Must sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
