Job Opportunity

This opportunity is for a skilled professional in a healthcare setting, effective from October 4, 2026, through February 27, 2027. After this period, the assignment will revert to standard operating practices. Candidates must be open to floating to nearby facilities, including Healdsburg or Santa Rosa Memorial.

Schedule

• Shift: Day Shift, 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Variable start times available at 7 AM, 9 AM, or 3 PM
• 1 night shift call required (11 PM - 7 AM) per week
• Weekend coverage with 3 weekend shifts on call (24-hour shifts) in a 6-week schedule

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of charge experience required
• Strong experience in orthopedic procedures (levels 3 and 4 on checklist)
• Must have experience with the Epic charting system
• Valid state compact license is required at the time of submission
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory

Patient Care Details

The facility provides care for various patient age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics, with a daily census ranging from 6 to 25 patients.

• Interdisciplinary Support: Includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy.
• Patient Diagnoses: Experience in sports medicine, orthopedic fractures, total joints, general surgery, gynecology, and urology is required.

Special Procedures and Equipment

Candidates should be familiar with various surgical procedures and equipment, including but not limited to:

• Abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy
• Orthopedic procedures such as ACL reconstructions and total joint replacements
• Laparoscopic assisted procedures
• Conscious sedation monitoring and infection control

Working Environment

This position requires flexibility to float between facilities as needed. Candidates who refuse to float may face termination of assignment. On-call staff must adhere to the 20-minute response time for emergency situations.

References

Two references covering a period of one year within the last three years are required during the compliance process prior to starting the position. References can include charge nurses or lead staff.

• Modules and orientation hours are required and included in non-billable hours
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities
• Effective communication devices will be provided as needed for job functions
