Ortho Trauma Specialty Medsurge RN

Location: Plano, TX

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7 PM to 7 AM

Job Description: Join our dynamic Ortho Trauma Specialty Medsurge unit, where you will provide critical care to patients experiencing polytrauma and orthopedic emergencies. You will work as part of a dedicated team, providing high-quality nursing care to support patients recovering from complex surgical and non-surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Caring for patients with polytrauma and orthopedic conditions, including cervical fractures and traumatic brain injuries.
• Administering medications and managing heparin and protonix drips.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to assess patient needs and develop care plans.
• Monitoring patient vital signs and responding to changes in condition.
• Participating in daily huddles and interdisciplinary team meetings.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 1 year of Medsurg experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with ortho and/or trauma patients is preferred.
