CT Secondary Winder (2nd Shift)

SUMMARY

1. Prepare cores for further processing by securing the cores into a winding machine and winding cooper wire onto steel cores. Apply core protection and strip insulation from wires before sending product to next work station. Select the wire size and wire grade of the paper or plastic cores. Prepare core before sending to next workstation. Primary Responsibilities Verify raw material you will work with are correct according to your work order. Inspect steel core for blemishes, burs, cuts or holes. Load steel cores onto winding machine. When winding is complete finish procedure by stripping insulation or soldering as necessary. Send wound cores to next work bench(pre-assembly). Responsible for Quality Control. No damaged product is sent to next work station. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs). Complete daily production logs. Communicate with operators from other shifts. Clean and maintain work area. Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use. Other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Assist mechanics and machinists in repair work. Perform back-up for LV pre-assembly. Provide on-the-job training to new employees. Knowledge and Skill Requirements Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing. Performing day‑to‑day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
