Families come to Diamond Legal during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. They need an attorney who can provide clarity, confidence, and strong legal advocacy while helping them move forward.

Diamond Legal is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join our growing team. This position focuses primarily on family law matters in Lake County, including divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, child support, maintenance, and orders of protection.

We are not looking for someone who wants to practice alone. We are looking for an attorney who wants to be part of a collaborative, systems-driven firm with experienced support staff, established processes, and a strong reputation in the community.

At Diamond Legal, our attorneys focus on practicing law while our team supports them with marketing, intake, billing, collections, and administrative systems.

We handle billing and collections.

You focus on serving clients, advocating effectively, and helping families through challenging transitions.

After the first 90 days, attorneys who are meeting performance expectations may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule. We believe in accountability, flexibility, and rewarding results.

$150,000 - $180,000 yearly

• Manage a family law caseload from initial consultation through resolution
• Conduct client consultations and develop legal strategies tailored to client goals
• Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, parenting plans, financial affidavits, and other legal documents
• Appear regularly in Lake County Court
• Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients in contested matters
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and strategy
• Collaborate with legal assistants, support staff, and firm leadership to ensure matters progress efficiently
• Maintain accurate time records and file documentation
• Follow established firm procedures and case-management systems
• Participate in weekly case review and strategy meetings
• Deliver an exceptional client experience from intake through case resolution

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active Illinois law license in good standing
• Preferred: 3+ years of experience handling family law matters
• Experience independently managing hearings, motion practice, client communications, and case strategy
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
• Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service
• Experience practicing in Lake County or McHenry County is a plus but not required
