Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro/Stroke PCU position requiring 1 year of experience and cardiac drip titration skills on night shift.

Details

• PCU floor within a hospital setting
• Neuro/stroke, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patient population ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30 and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Requires titrating cardiac drips with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience managing and interpreting cardiac dysrhythmias and titrating cardiac and insulin drips
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, and pre/post neurosurgery care

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Neuro/Stroke PCU unit including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and drip titration
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed for emergent patient care
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
• RTO blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• Holiday coverage required based on the number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
• Travelers previously cancelled or DNR'd by a Piedmont facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
