Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic and consultative services to patients with communication, cognitive and swallowing disorders.
• Adhere to state and federal licensure, certification and accreditation requirement guidelines.
• Serve as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans; document progress; discharge planning as appropriate.
• Conduct screenings and evaluations to determine treatment needs; monitor progress and adjust therapy as needed.
• Educate patients and families about communication strategies, alternative and augmentative communication options, and swallowing therapy.

Requirements

• Active California state license to practice speech-language pathology.
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Experience in an acute care or hospital-based setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary care team.
• Ability to work in a hospital-based acute care setting and comply with applicable licensing and credentialing requirements.
