Key Responsibilities\n

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at West Valley Psychiatric Services, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to formulate individualized treatment plans for clients.
  • \n
  • Providing therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
  • \n
  • Creating a safe and inviting space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings while fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship.
  • \n
  • Facilitating individual, couple, and family therapy sessions, both via telehealth and in-person at our outpatient office as necessary.
  • \n
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  • \n
  • Participating in regular supervision and team meetings, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • \n
  • Building collaborative relationships with community services and resources to enhance client care.
  • \n
  • Providing psychoeducation to clients and their families regarding mental health issues and treatment options.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work primarily with children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and cultural transitions. Your sensitivity to each client’s cultural and individual needs will be pivotal in providing effective, relevant support.

Qualifications\n

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • \n
  • A current and active LMFT license, unrestricted.
  • \n
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish, with strong written and verbal communication skills for providing bilingual therapy services.
  • \n
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a mental health setting, with demonstrated proficiency in working with a diverse population.
  • \n
  • A respectful approach to the cultural traditions and individual preferences of clients.
  • \n
  • Experience with various therapeutic modalities, particularly focusing on trauma, grief, LGBTQ+ issues, or perinatal mental health.
  • \n
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and successful completion of relevant training.
  • \n
  • Proficiency in utilizing EHR systems, Microsoft Office, and other digital tools essential for effective therapy practice.
  • \n
  • A valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
  • \n
  • A flexible schedule, including availability to work two evenings and one weekend day per week.
  • \n
  • Commitment to regular attendance and punctuality.
  • \n
Preferred Experience\n

While not mandatory, the following experiences would be advantageous:

  • A background in group therapy facilitation or experience with program development.

  • Previous work in community mental health or outpatient settings.

Compensation and Benefits\n

West Valley Psychiatric Services offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to the salary, therapists are eligible for a sign-in bonus and a range of benefits that include health insurance, flexible working hours, and opportunities for professional development.
