Med-Hunters is conducting a confidential search for an experienced Associate Director of Nursing on behalf of a well-established, physician-led gastroenterology organization serving multiple locations throughout Maryland.

Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Associate Director will provide operational and clinical leadership across six ambulatory surgery centers, partnering with physicians, administrators, and nursing leaders to ensure exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, and standardized clinical excellence.

Position Highlights

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide nursing leadership across six ambulatory surgery centers.
• Partner with the Director of Nursing to standardize clinical practices and operational workflows.
• Support nursing staff through coaching, mentoring, recruitment, and professional development.
• Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead accreditation readiness and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and administrative leadership.
• Monitor clinical performance, staffing effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
• Five or more years of perioperative, procedural, ambulatory surgery, or endoscopy nursing experience.
• Progressive nursing leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of ambulatory surgery regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification.
• Ability to travel between Maryland surgery center locations.

Preferred Experience

• Gastroenterology or endoscopy
• Multi-site nursing leadership
• Quality Assessment & Performance Improvement (QAPI)
• Infection prevention
• Endoscope reprocessing
• AAAHC or Joint Commission accreditation experience
