Sterile Processing Technician

Location: Elmhurst, IL
Schedule: 3rd Shift | 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours: 40 hours/week | 5x8
Travel Pay: $1,050–$1,088 per week

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to manage loaner and consignment instrument trays, coordinate sterile processing workflow, and ensure accurate tracking and timely processing of surgical instruments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with loaner and consignment trays, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, clinical teams, and sterile processing staff.

• Manage incoming and outgoing loaner and consignment instrument trays .
• Verify tray contents before and after sterilization.
• Coordinate with vendors, clinical teams, sterile processing staff, and leadership.
• Track tray movement throughout the complete processing, delivery, and return cycle.
• Monitor daily sterile processing production flow and prioritize workloads based on operational needs.
• Identify and resolve processing delays, discrepancies, missing instruments, and workflow issues.
• Maintain accurate instrument tracking, sterilization records, and operational reports.
• Communicate tray status, processing updates, and delivery schedules with healthcare facilities and surgery centers.
• Support Production Technicians and help maintain high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
• Ensure all processing activities follow applicable infection-control, sterilization, and quality standards.
• Assist with maintaining an organized and efficient sterile processing workflow.

• 3–5 years of Sterile Processing experience , including strong hands-on experience with loaner and consignment trays.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience using instrument tracking software and reporting tools .
• Ability to coordinate effectively with vendors, clinical teams, leadership, and other stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures.
