This role owns the site’s safety and environmental function, partnering with leaders to drive compliance, reduce risk, and support Trinity’s goals. As a new, state-of-the-art railcar maintenance facility, we are looking for a hands-on EHS leader who can build trust, strengthen systems, and help shape a culture of safety accountability from the ground up.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an EHS leader who wants to shape systems, influence culture, and leave a lasting mark on a growing facility.

What you’ll do:

  • Drive compliance through EHS Management Systems, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and RCMS
  • Lead and develop multi-shift safety professionals responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving safety and environmental programs

  • Oversee workers’ compensation matters, including case investigation, return-to-work support, and partnership with Operations
  • Own high-hazard work analysis, ergonomic assessments, and proactive risk evaluations that reduce exposure and improve workplace conditions
  • Lead multi-shift safety committees, training, and coaching that reinforce accountability, employee engagement, and safe work practices
  • Work directly with employees and leaders to resolve safety concerns, remove barriers, and reinforce a culture of ownership and follow-through
  • Maintain accurate records, communicate trends, and keep facility leadership informed of risks, progress, and compliance needs

Who we’re looking for:

  • A strong manufacturing leader with significant experience and a track record of progressive growth and creating a positive safety culture
  • Demonstrated ownership of environmental management and a proactive approach to driving compliance, continuous improvement, and risk reduction
  • A mindset of accountability and ownership for their area, with the ability to follow through, solve problems, and lead with confidence
  • A collaborative partner who works effectively with cross-functional teams to support people, safety, and business needs
  • A consistent model of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in daily decisions and interactions

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental health, or a related field
  • 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment, 10 years preferred
  • 3+ years of experience leading employees or safety professionals
  • Certified Safety Professional certification strongly preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Skills are a plus
  • Working knowledge of safety, environmental, health, and workers’ compensation regulations
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, RCMS, or similar management systems
  • Experience leading audits, corrective actions, and compliance follow-through
  • Ability to lead, coach, and influence across all levels of the organization
  • Strong manufacturing awareness with the ability to learn operations quickly
  • Strong recordkeeping, reporting, and follow-through skills
  • Clear communication style with the ability to partner from the shop floor to senior leadership
