Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care/Trauma Stepdown Unit position requiring NIHSS certification and Neuro/Trauma experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (Trauma Care Stepdown) within a hospital setting
• 44-bed unit with staffing grid of 2 CNC/Charge, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC per shift
• Patient ratios of 4:1 at grid, stretching to 5:1
• Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trach care, and patient lifts
• Floating required to Stepdown and Med-Surg units

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro and Trauma Care experience required
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
• Assist with chest tube management, PCA pump administration, and IV infusions
• Support lumbar drain management, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions
• Team-oriented, patient-focused personality preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
