Job OverviewA law firm seeks a Nonprofit Associate Attorney in Chicago, Illinois. The successful candidate will join the Tax Practice Group, supporting nonprofit and philanthropic client work. This role requires 3-6 years of experience in tax-exempt organizations and nonprofit law. Duties Advise nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations on maintaining tax-exempt status and compliance. Provide counsel on nonprofit governance, including formation and executive compensation. Engage in transactions and restructurings involving nonprofits. Advise on philanthropy for high net worth individuals and businesses. Participate in international activity and grantmaking. Requirements 3-6 years of relevant experience in tax-exempt organizations and nonprofit law. Admitted to and a member in good standing of the bar in the relevant jurisdiction. Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills. Strong communication and organizational abilities. Ability to manage multiple concurrent matters independently. Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset. Education Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications Bar admission in the jurisdiction of the office location.
