Details PCU/Stepdown unit within a short term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00-07:00 Patient ratios of 1:3-4 Every other weekend required No on-call requirements May float to Telemetry or Med-Surg floors if overstaffed, with travelers floated first Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities in the area Epic EMR used for charting 48-hour work weeks approved Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS Minimum 1 year of recent experience required Cardiac drip experience with titration and management is a hard requirement Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5 Epic charting experience required Teaching hospital experience preferred Previous charge nurse experience preferred Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring Experience with cardiovascular care including pacemakers, post cardiac cath/surgery care, and sheath removal Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, from a comparable specialty/setting Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a teaching hospital setting on a cardiac stepdown/PCU unit Candidates may choose one holiday off between Thanksgiving or Christmas, but not both First-time travelers are welcome to apply Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be accepted at the local bill rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility Scrub color for RNs is any color American Traveler Job ID P-770159.
