Radiation Therapist Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of professional experience as a Radiation Therapist
- Current certification or credential in Radiation Therapy
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a hospital radiation oncology environment
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety, treatment accuracy, and patient care practices
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
Radiation Therapist Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments safely and accurately
- Prepare, position, and align patients according to radiation treatment plans
- Operate radiation therapy equipment in accordance with established procedures
- Monitor patients during treatment and provide compassionate support throughout the cancer care process
- Review treatment plans and collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, nurses, and other members of the oncology team
- Maintain accurate radiation treatment records and communicate relevant patient observations
- Follow department protocols for quality assurance, infection prevention, and radiation safety
