We are currently looking for a Dental Hygienist who promotes dental health by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral cancer screening and radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act. Essential Functions of the Job: Prepares patient for dental hygiene treatment by welcoming, soothing, seating, and draping patient Maintains instrumentation for dental hygiene treatment by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting instruments Properly captures digital radiographs that are diagnostic (root apices /no overlapping). Radiographs properly labeled Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins Detects disease by completing oral cancer screening; feeling and visually examining gums; using probes to locate periodontal disease and to assess levels of recession; exposing and developing radiographic studies Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies Documents dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical, and dental histories charting in patient records Completes med consults as directed by dentist. Faxed to patient's PCP and follows set clinic policies. (note in chart, scanned, follow up) Qualifications and Education Requirements Education : Associate degree in Dental Hygiene (Bachelor's degree preferred) Experience : A minimum of 3-years preferred Expertise : must be qualified in Basic Life Support techniques/CPR Language : Comprehend and use basic language either written or spoken to communicate information and ideals Apply today to join our growing organization! #J-18808-Ljbffr New Community Clinic Inc Ltd
