Founding Engineer

Founding Engineer - Real-Time AI Systems (Healthcare) Hybrid- options in Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay area AI in healthcare mostly lives in the cloud. It helps with notes and paperwork, but it isn't present when care decisions are being made. We're changing that. We're building real-time AI systems that run locally inside clinical environments, enabling AI to operate during patient care itself. Clinics don't have the power, cooling, or infrastructure of traditional data centers. Bringing high-performance AI into those environments creates a unique engineering challenge. Our first systems are moving from prototype to production, and early engineers will help define how they work from the ground up. Preferred Technical Background GPU Acceleration & AI Inference – Building and optimizing production AI inference systems, CUDA, NVIDIA stack, inference-serving infrastructure, latency/throughput optimization, and performance tuning in constrained hardware environments. Distributed Computing & Systems – Kubernetes, large-scale orchestration, reliability engineering at load, architecting data layers that power intelligent applications, and ensuring reliable, scalable, secure data pipelines with clean APIs. Retrieval-Augmented Generation & Knowledge Systems – RAG pipelines, vector databases, and LLM integration in production environments. High-Fidelity 3D Graphics & Visualization – Real-time rendering, clinical visualization, or spatial data visualization. Front-End (UI/UX) Development – Building responsive, performant end-user experiences across web and native mobile platforms while partnering closely with design. Systems Orchestration – Containerization, edge compute, firmware/software deployment pipelines, and operating infrastructure outside traditional datacenter environments. Additional Qualifications Strong software engineering fundamentals and systems thinking Experience building, owning, and operating production systems Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments Startup mentality with a bias toward action and ownership Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements Candidates located in the Los Angeles or San Francisco Bay Area are strongly preferred and should be willing to work a hybrid schedule Experience at NVIDIA, FAANG, or leading AI infrastructure companies is strongly preferred 401(k) Additional Job Application Terms This job is part of LinkedIn's Full-Service Hiring beta program.
