Remote TypeScript Engineer

Salary: $71,000 - 111,000 per year Requirements:

• Proficiency in Python, particularly for building and maintaining pipelines and infrastructure, or in TypeScript; experience contributing to or navigating large codebases such as VSCode is a plus.
• Hands-on experience collecting preference data and/or creating rubrics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn technical work into clear, actionable summaries.
• Strong judgment and the ability to explain what makes an example good.
• Preferred availability of 40 hours per week, with at least six hours of overlap with Pacific Time; applicants unable to commit to 40 hours should provide their available hours and overlap window.

• Design, refine, and iterate on rubrics and evaluation criteria for preference data.
• Review and label data to a high quality standard, identifying subtle issues.
• Build and maintain pipelines and infrastructure for data generation, collection, and evaluation workflows.
• Summarize findings from data work in clear write-ups, updates, and recommendations.
• Work closely with researchers and engineers to turn qualitative judgment into scalable processes.
