Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory and pulmonary therapy, management, and rehabilitation under the direction of a doctor. The Respiratory Therapist treats conditions that affect the pulmonary system and help patients who are having trouble breathing from infants to the elderly in a variety of health care settings.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Respiratory Therapist Certification or Registration for the state in which he/she practices
• One year of respiratory therapy clinical experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age Compliance & Ethics Expectations

Shifts: Days/Nights - 12 Hour per day 1 Days per week 1 day shift, 1 night- On an as needed basis

Details of Assignment: Under direction and general medical supervision, administers respiratory therapy to patients; performs the most difficult and complex respiratory treatments, electrocardiography testing and cardiopulmonary services and medical diagnostic procedures at Kern Medical and at assigned health care locations that may include skilled nursing facilities, home care, clinics and physician offices.
