Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Chemistry and Microbiology

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 5x8 hours (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM) with alternating weekends.

Job Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) will focus exclusively on Chemistry and Microbiology disciplines. This role involves performing laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring accurate results for patient diagnosis and treatment. The technician will work in a Level III Trauma Center, contributing to patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory tests in Chemistry and Microbiology.
• Utilize analyzers such as Alinity, BioFire, and Cepheid for testing procedures.
• Ensure quality assurance and control measures are met.
• Accurately report test results in a timely manner.
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment in the laboratory.

Required Experience / Certifications

• At least 1 year of experience in a general laboratory setting.
• National certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) from ASCP or AMT.
• Experience with laboratory automation and testing methods.
