Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough women's health assessments, including detailed medical history reviews, physical examinations, and necessary screenings tailored to individual patient needs.
• Diagnose and manage common women's health conditions, effectively treating reproductive health issues, gynecological infections, menstrual irregularities, and menopausal symptoms.
• Deliver comprehensive family planning services, providing contraceptive counseling and management, as well as education on reproductive health options.
• Perform routine gynecological examinations, conducting Pap smears and breast examinations to ensure early detection of health issues.
• Oversee prenatal care for expecting mothers, guiding them through prenatal visits, monitoring fetal development, and delivering essential education on pregnancy and childbirth.
• Work closely with obstetricians and interdisciplinary healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care for pregnant patients.
• Provide counseling on sexual and reproductive health, including STDs prevention, fertility awareness, and preconception strategies.
• Order and interpret essential diagnostic tests, such as ultrasounds and laboratory work, crafting tailored treatment plans based on results.
• Prescribe medications and monitor patients' responses to treatment, addressing any side effects with appropriate follow-up care.
• Educate patients on women's health issues, emphasizing self-care practices and preventive measures to foster better health.
• Document all patient interactions accurately within our electronic health record (EHR) system, ensuring compliance and high quality of care.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
• Stay informed about advancements in women’s health through ongoing education, professional development, and training.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on caring for women across various life stages, from adolescence through post-menopause. Whether addressing routine gynecological issues or managing complex prenatal care, you will be a critical source of support and education, helping patients navigate their health with confidence and understanding.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Nursing with a specialization in Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is required.
• Must possess a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas.
• Board certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner is essential.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in women’s health, preferably in a primary care or OB/GYN setting.
• Thorough understanding of women’s health topics, including gynecology, reproductive health, and menopausal management.
• Proficiency in performing gynecological exams, Pap smears, and other health screenings is critical.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to facilitate effective patient interactions.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
