Registered Nurse - OR - Ambulatory Surgery Center

Key Responsibilities Provides total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the perioperative nursing process in an organized and systematic manner according to institutional policy in keeping with patient safety principles. Collaborates with the patient, significant others, and ancillary departments to become a multidisciplinary health‑care team whose goal is to provide continuous, well‑coordinated care. Communicates proactively to the health‑care team about changes in the plan of care, patient condition, progress, discharge plan, and other relevant information. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing responsibilities regarding anesthesia administration. Responds quickly and efficiently in emergency situations, implementing nursing action as prescribed. Implements nursing action in transferring the patient according to the prescribed plan. Creates and maintains a sterile field and performs surgical counts according to facility policy and procedure. Dispenses drugs and solutions in accordance with policy. Competently manages the care of the surgical patient, providing equipment and supplies based on patient needs. Qualifications Education: Associates degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. License: Valid New Jersey State Nursing License. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Experience: At least 1 year of perioperative experience as a Registered Nurse; scrubbing experience preferred. Compensation Pay Range: $45.14 - $56.44 per hour. Compensation is based on industry standards and may vary with experience and location.
