Job Summary

The Principal Electrical Engineer within Engineering Services serves as the corporate Subject Matter Expert for electrical distribution systems, offsite power reliability, and associated regulatory requirements at Salem and Hope Creek Generating Stations. This role provides governance, oversight, and technical leadership to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations, INPO guidance, and industry best practices.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain and advance deep technical expertise in electrical distribution and related plant systems for both stations.
• Support station personnel on complex, strategic, and emergent technical issues.
• Perform independent reviews of technical documents.
• Lead and coordinate complex engineering analyses and technical issue resolution beyond site capabilities.
• rive the resolution of cross industry issues affecting both stations.
• Represent PSEG Nuclear by influencing technical decision making at the industry level.
• Provide equipment reliability oversight during refueling outages and support outage readiness and external organizational assessments.
• Benchmark industry best practices and incorporate lessons learned into programs and processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to engineering staff.
• Support Emergency Preparedness Program.
• As an employee of PSE&G, during storm/outage restoration efforts, may be required to perform functions different from normal operations and the regular work schedule. May also be required to work in an alternate location.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical distribution, protection schemes, and regulatory requirements related to FERC and INPO for offsite power reliability.
• Minimum 5 years of nuclear power plant experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business conditions.
• Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted site access.
• Compliance with the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.
• A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation ( is required for this job. 

Desired

• Advanced technical degree.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license.
• Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification.
