JOB TITLE: QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR

REPORTS TO: QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR DIRECT REPORTS: N/A POSITION SUMMARY This position’s responsibility is to determine whether product conforms to the engineering definition. This role works in support of one or more production departments to plan verification activities for product and processes performed internally and externally. ELEMENTS RELATED TO THE FUNCTION Position Type: Non-Exempt Location:Demgy Pacific, LLC, Tacoma WA JOB SKILL REQUIREMENTS Training and experience with programming and running coordinate measurement systems (CMM Manager with and without CAD models), preferred Understanding of Boeing’s EID system to find essential information, preferred Training and experience in Internal Quality Auditing, preferred Has a strong familiarity with and understanding of drawing interpretation and inspection techniques Ability to read and understand Customers Specifications Ability to read & understand aerospace drawings for plastic parts Ability to inspect molded parts utilizing conventional machine shop inspection tools Understanding of GD&T Understanding of AS9102 FAIR Be highly detail oriented with a strong background in Aerospace Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Have good communication, reading, reporting, and computers skills in MS Office (using Word, Excel, and Outlook) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. APPLICABLE METRICS Average time from inspection request to completion Number of escapes or inspection misses (defects that passed inspection but were caught later) Adhere to the Demgy Pacific attendance point system Adhere to the Demgy Pacific job variance to standard metric Adhere to the Demgy Pacific Safety protocols JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Follow the company’s Quality Management System and encourage others to do the same The primary responsibility of the job is to inspect product currently in production at the machine Utilize blueprint reading and specification interpretation skills to perform required inspections Use experience and judgment to select appropriate and efficient inspection and measurement techniques to perform: First part buy-off and in-process inspection of manufactured details and assemblies Final inspection and document review Document non-conformances for MRB in ERP system Control of Documents, External and Internal Assist with Internal Quality Audits Demonstrate excellent time management skills Utilize all time saving methods personally developed or prescribed, by management when applicable Show concerted effort to improve knowledge and grow with the company's technology Follow the company's Quality Management System and guide others to do the same Work well with others and follow directions in a team environment under project leaders or supervisors Develop inspection procedures and methods, make setups, determine the deviation from blueprint or standard, and report results Assisting less experienced employees as required EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES Uphold and comply with Demgy’s Code of Ethics and Conduct Follow safety policies Contribute to the success of the company’s environmental, health & safety program Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers in all departments Maintain accurate documentation as required, following Demgy Pacific’s document and record control procedures as applicable to the position Ensure that housekeeping within the department is properly maintained. Follow Demgy 5S program (workstation organization/locations maintained) Follow policies outlined in the Employee Handbook Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor QualificationsMINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS High School education (or equivalent) with a strong mathematical background required. Undergraduate (associate) degree or higher, preferred Inspector 1:1-2 years’ experience in quality inspection or manufacturing role with inspection duties required Inspector 2: 3-5 years’ experience in quality inspection or manufacturing role with inspection duties required Previous experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment is required Previous experience with ERP/MRP software is preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Demgy Pacific
