Full-Time In-House Handyman

In this role, you will perform residential and light commercial maintenance work that may include pipe fitting, insulation, welding, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, repairing buildings, floors, or stairs, and installing new equipment. You are hard‑working, a team player, and dedicated to performing quality work in all that you do. Significant past experience as a professional maintenance worker is highly preferred and a positive attitude is a must! Responsibilities Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary Repair machines, equipment, or structures, using tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches, or equipment such as precision measuring instruments or electrical or electronic testing devices Interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner Who You Are 5+ years of paid home repair or handyman experience Committed to quality, safety, and doing the job right Reliable, courteous, and respectful in every interaction Comfortable working independently and within a team Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Fluent in English and legally authorized to work in the U.S. Why Join AVGI Steady, year‑round work with consistent hours Flexible scheduling and strong office support A trusted team culture built on compassion, integrity, and professionalism A mission‑driven company helping people live better at home Qualifications Previous experience as a handyman or general maintenance Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry Ability to read and interpret blueprints Must be qualified to perform at heights above thirty (30) feet with the use of a ladder, lift, or bucket truck boom Ability to lift 40+ lbs on a consistent basis Join Us If you’re ready to use your skills to make a meaningful impact—and want to be part of a team that treats you like family.
