Registered Nurse Cardiac Stepdown

Job Summary:

The Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients recovering from cardiac procedures and surgeries. This role involves monitoring and managing patients in a 15-bed unit that includes step-down ICU, telemetry, and progressive care.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patient conditions regularly and document vital signs and clinical findings.
  
  
• 
  Implement and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  
  
• 
  Monitor telemetry data and interpret strips to detect arrhythmias or cardiac events.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications and treatments following hospital protocols.
  
  
• 
  Utilize Meditech charting, Pyxis medication system, and operate cardiac monitoring equipment.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure safety.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold a valid Hawaii Registered Nurse license upon acceptance of the offer.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least 1 year of recent hospital acute care experience, ideally in progressive care or telemetry units.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate strong skills in primary nursing, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac assessment.
  
  
• 
  Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, NIHSS.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work flexible hours, including floating to other units such as ICU, ER, or Medical/Surgical/Pediatric departments.
