JOB SUMMARY:The Rental Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family. The Rental Shop Technician should have a positive attitude, attention to detail, and be customer focused. This position will work directly with our guests in providing ski and snowboard equipment, adjusting equipment, and assisting in equipment education.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:The Rental Shop Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Maintain a general knowledge of all Monarch Mountain services.Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.Properly fit guests with boots, skis/snowboards, helmets, and poles.Restock, sort, and maintain equipment in an organized manner.Perform routine facilities maintenance and cleanup.Other duties as assigned. This job description is an overview of the scope of responsibilities for this job and is not intended to be an inclusive list of job tasks and expectations.Level 2 Additional DutiesPerform basic ski and snowboard tuning.Complete all cash register and cash handling in a positive and accurate manner.Set up equipment for guest rental reservations.Level 3 Additional DutiesExperience in all ski and snowboard binding mounting required.PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:Ability to maintain a good attitude, set a positive example and work well with guests and other employees.Great work ethic.Ability to handle a fast paced and high-pressure environment.General knowledge of Monarch Mountain.Awareness of surroundings and the ability to identify and respond to situational needs.Maintain a professional appearance.Excellent communication skills.Ability to take direction and follow procedures.Must be able to work as an individual and as a team.Great customer service skills to ensure guests have the best experience possible.Is flexible with hours and days of work. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays)JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Age: 16 (Minimum Age for Level 2-3: 18)Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.Ability to push, lift, and move up to 40 lbs.Some knowledge of skiing and/or snowboarding equipment use preferred.Requires reaching, grasping, bending and using hand tools, i.e.: screw drivers, pliers, ice scrapers, torque wrench, etc.Previous cashier experience preferred (Required for Level 2).Binding technician certification by binding companies (Level 2-3)Ability to operate tuning machinery (Level 3)Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.JOB TYPE: Winter SeasonalCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Compensation: Proposed hiring rate starts at $18 (actual pay will be adjusted based on experience).Benefits: Monarch Season Pass and many more!
