Journeyman Electrician

About this role

We need experienced Journeyman Electricians to work on a power generation expansion at 9125 Cartledge Road, Box Springs, GA 31801. The project adds an approximately 240 MW simple-cycle, dual-fuel combustion turbine generator (CTG) to a facility that already has six simple-cycle units. This is full-time, on-site construction work. Expect typical power-plant schedules with long shifts and possible overtime during critical phases. Candidates must be comfortable working around medium-voltage systems, following site safety procedures, and reading technical drawings.

What you'll do

• Install, terminate, and test distribution equipment, conduit, cable, and raceways for power and control systems
• Read and follow electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and construction blueprints for CTG and auxiliary systems
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including protective devices, control circuits, and grounding; perform testing with meters and megohmmeters
• Install and commission overcurrent protective devices and medium-voltage components under supervision of lead electricians
• Support standby and emergency system installation and maintenance, including transfer switches and emergency power wiring
• Follow site safety rules, lockout/tagout, and participate in toolbox talks and required site safety training

What we're looking for

• Journeyman electrician classification with proven industrial/construction experience
• Hands-on experience with medium-voltage distribution equipment and overcurrent device selection/installation
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics
• Skilled at troubleshooting electrical issues related to safety, amps, and wear-and-tear using standard test equipment
• Comfortable working outdoors and at elevations; able to lift equipment and perform physical tasks for full shifts
• Reliable transportation to and from the Box Springs jobsite and willingness to follow site access and clearance requirements

Qualifications

• Valid Journeyman electrician license or certification
• Demonstrated medium-voltage work history (installation, testing, or maintenance)
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 construction safety card preferred
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug screen and background check
• CPR/First Aid preferred

What we offer

• Site-provided PPE and safety equipment
• Opportunities for trade-specific training and certification reimbursement
• Overtime opportunities during peak construction phases
• Project-duration stability on a long-term power-generation expansion
• Paid time off and standard employee benefits where applicable
• Tool allowance or reimbursement for necessary trade tools
