About This Role

The Learning Curve Daycare Center is looking for a custodian to help them shine! We are searching for a hardworking dependable individual to join the team as our company continues to grow! We have an immediate opening for a custodian that wants to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction. We are looking for a custodial member that have strong customer service skills and can work successfully with other team members.

Essential Functions:

1. Cleans bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, hallways and any other assigned areas by vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing and polishing.
2. Performs minor maintenance repairs and tasks as directed
3. Assists with other departments with set up for meetings, special events, etc.
4. During shutdown periods, must be available to work if needed.
5. Empties and cleans trash containers
6. Moves, rearranges and dusts furniture and fixtures
7. Reports any damage or needed repairs to equipment, property, etc. to supervisor
8. Uses all cleaning supplies in the proper and efficient manner
9. Attends all staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled
10. Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor
11. Serves as an integral member of the total staff team
12. Responds to emergencies appropriately in accordance to his/her level of training and Circumstances.
13. Keeps all cleaning closets clean and uncluttered during his/her scheduled shift.
14. Interacts with staff, members, and general public in a professional and courteous manner.
15. Assists in special projects at the branch or other Association facilities.
16. Participates in Association and special responsibilities as designated by supervisor.
17. Attends all mandatory training sessions.
18. Ensures and is attentive by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with playground, and general cleaning.
19. Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
20. Ensures building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
21. Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
22. May set up furniture for events.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to pass federal and DCF background check
• Possess a high school diploma.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

A valid Drivers License
