Staff Geotechnical Engineer

You are viewing a preview of this job. Log in or register to view more details about this job. We are seeking a motivated geotechnical professional for the Wakefield, Massachusetts (Boston) office. The ideal candidate will work on a wide variety of projects such as buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and gain a wide range of experience. This role includes subsurface explorations, construction observation/management, geotechnical and structural design, instrumentation design and interpretation, and technical specification support. Other responsibilities include: Performing geotechnical field explorations and testing. Coordinating and interpreting lab test data. Developing spreadsheets and databases. Performing engineering analysis and calculations. Preparing technical memos, reports, and construction specifications. Observing and documenting construction activities. Preparing and modifying drawings using AutoCad. Minimum Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical is required MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred 0 to 3+ years of experience Excellent writing and general communication skills Working knowledge of CAD. Experience in Civil 3D or GIS a plus. Ability to perform field work on construction sites without restrictions, in inclement weather 40-hr OSHA/HAZWOPER training is a plus Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more Valid driver’s license.
