Eaton’s ES AMER NAS division is currently seeking a Senior Sales Engineer . This is a hybrid position and candidates for this role must reside within 50 miles of our Houston, TX location be considered for this position.What you’ll do:Position Overview:The primary function of the Senior Sales Engineer is to sell assigned product lines to targeted customers in targeted market areas. This position will be responsible to achieve the assigned sales goal consistent with the expectations of a thoroughly seasoned professional sales engineer for the assigned product categories while under little supervision. It will be an expectation to optimize sales volume, product mix and profit margin, while increasing sales in the marketplace. This position will need to coordinate sales for the assigned customer and distributor base. It has the responsibility to manage all aspects of the customer relationship, providing sales and technical assistance with distributors, customers, end users and specifiers.The primary functions include understanding Eaton’s support structure available to sales, including EatonCare; understanding Eaton proprietary systems and software including Bidmanager and VISTA; applying technical knowledge for all products that are involved with the sales assignment; comprehension of project specifications and drawings; ability to gain confidence of customers and become a trusted source of information about Eaton offerings.In this function you will:Provide accurate and timely planning and specification interpretation, quotation and technical supportCommunicate with customers, warehouse and plants to facilitate problem resolutionCollect, analyze and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences and buying habitsReview and interpret customer needs on plans and specificationsProvide facility timely solutions to customer issues by utilizing available resources or creating procedure for resolutionBe aware of and responsive to market conditions and competitive activities while communicating such information to product divisionsPlan promotional events and presentations with distributor personnel to promote Eaton’s position, while developing a proven record of achieving assigned sales goalsPrepare and present bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines while using sound business judgmentQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionMinimum three (3) years of electrical industry experiencePossess a valid driver’s licenseNo relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Houston, TX to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringAccount management experienceSkills:Position Criteria:Possess excellent communication skillsMust be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureKnowledge of key customers within sales territoriesTime management, presentation and planning skillsCommand knowledge of Eaton electrical product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversightPossesses an understanding of the sales process using sales techniques as evidenced by good customer relationshipsSkilled in Bidmanager and VistaDemonstrated and understanding of market trends, industry issues and knowledge of competitorsEffective interpersonal and teamwork skillsAbility to leverage support personnel to meet customer and organizational needsAbility to travel up to 25%All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
