Description: JOB SUMMARY

The Traveling Practice Operations Manager provides hands-on, temporary operational leadership and support to individual practices across the organization. This role is designed to step into a specific practice during a management vacancy, leadership transition, or other defined operational need.

This role does not have ongoing oversight or leadership responsibility for a portfolio of practices. Assignments are focused on the day-to-day execution of established company processes, maintaining operational stability, supporting the local team, and helping the assigned practice meet performance expectations.

When not traveling, the Traveling Practice Operations Manager will work remotely under the direction of Regional and Senior Leadership to review assigned practice needs, prepare for upcoming assignments, complete follow-up work, and support defined operational projects.

YOUR IMPACT

As a Traveling Practice Operations Manager, you will provide reliable, hands-on support to practices during periods of transition or operational need. You will help maintain continuity, reinforce established SPG processes and expectations, support the patient and team experience, and keep day-to-day practice operations moving effectively until permanent or long-term leadership is established.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Practice Leadership & Operational Support

• Provide temporary, on-site Practice Operations Manager coverage for an assigned practice experiencing a management vacancy, transition, new practice openings, or other operational need.
• Assess immediate operational needs and execute action plans established in partnership with Regional Leadership. 
• Ensure adherence to company policies, processes, and compliance standards.
• Partner with clinical and administrative teams to drive operational excellence.
• Maintain consistency with SPG operational standards and escalate broader or recurring concerns to Regional Leadership. 

Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

• Monitor daily pacing and collection goals to ensure practices remain on target while on assignment.
• Identify operational or scheduling gaps that may affect practice performance and communicate them to Regional Leadership.
• Reinforce established sales, consultation, and patient follow-up processes with Smile Consultants and local team members.
• Lead daily and weekly performance meetings focused on execution, accountability, and results.
• Support the assigned practice in working toward monthly production and collections expectations.

Team Development & Coaching

• Provide day-to-day direction and support to team members at the assigned practice.
• Reinforce established company expectations, workflows, patient experience standards, and operating procedures.
• Assist with onboarding and development of new team members.
• Provide timely, professional, and constructive feedback related to day-to-day execution and performance.
• Maintain a positive, professional, solutions-oriented environment while on assignment.
• Address routine practice-level performance concerns in partnership with Regional Leadership and HR.
• Escalate significant employee relations, leadership, or ongoing performance concerns to the Regional Manager and/or HR.
• Support recruitment, staffing, and scheduling needs when requested.

Patient Experience

• Support exceptional patient experiences from consultation through treatment completion.
• Resolve patient concerns professionally and promptly and escalate significant concerns when appropriate.
• Support consultation processes and treatment acceptance initiatives as needed.
• Monitor patient flow, scheduling efficiency, and service delivery within the assigned practice.

Financial & Business Management

• Monitor collections, production, and revenue performance during assignments.
• Review and report established practice KPIs and communicate material concerns or trends to Regional Leadership.
• Support inventory management, expense controls, and operational budgeting processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve practice-level efficiency while maintaining patient and service standards.
• Support the assigned practice in working toward established profitability and performance targets.

Strategic & Special Projects

• Execute defined operational projects and initiatives as assigned by Regional or Executive Leadership.
• Support implementation of new systems, workflows, and operational programs at assigned practices.
• Share observations, operational risks, and practice-level opportunities with Regional Leadership.
• Travel to assigned locations to provide hands-on coverage and address defined business needs.

Requirements: TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Up to 75% travel nationwide
• Typically three weeks per month on-site in supported practices
• One week per month working remotely
• Ability to travel on short notice based on business needs
• Overnight travel required
• Valid driver's license and ability to fly regularly
