A little about us

Anchor House endeavors to create a journey for our clients and not a destination once they complete the program. We have an alumni and mentoring program that allows former clients an opportunity to stay connected and give back to the residential community. This concept is introduced while in treatment through weekly community service projects that foster a desire to help. Our aftercare and wrap around referral services provide support as the clients return to their families and community. Anchor House recognizes that Substance Use can lead to involvement with the legal system and thereby affecting the individual and their families. Anchor House therefore partners with law enforcement agencies. Our partnerships include but are not limited to Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime (TASC), Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) as well as a range of foster care agencies to ensure successful reunification of families. Our spiritual component sets us apart because we provide the opportunity to learn how to live as a spiritual being not defined by our human experiences. Our spiritual curriculum (optional) incorporates activities and workshops teaching practical application for spiritual living.

What's your day like?

As a Behavior Health Technician at Anchor House, your primary goal is to ensure the safe and efficient operations of our residential facility through vigilant management and monitoring. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with daily human resources standards set by the Department of Labor, OASAS, and OSHA regulations. Your diligent oversight will guarantee that our program support staffing and facilities consistently meet the quality standards defined by governing authorities. In this essential position, you will not only help uphold the integrity and safety of our environment but also contribute to creating a supportive space for our residents, making a real difference in their lives.

What we're looking for in a behavior health technician

To thrive as a Behavior Health Technician at Anchor House, you will need a blend of essential skills and qualifications that enhance your ability to support our residents effectively. A high school diploma or GED is required, while an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Psychology is preferred. Your background in residential programs or mental health and substance use settings, typically ranging from 1 to 3 years of experience, will be invaluable in helping you navigate the complexities of this role. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial, enabling you to connect empathetically with residents and their families.

Additionally, proficiency with software tools for tracking compliance, documentation, and resident data will further bolster your effectiveness in ensuring a safe and supportive environment. Your ability to problem-solve and adapt in a dynamic setting will be the key to making a lasting impact in the lives of those you support.
