Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist

Summary The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CNA) is a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The CRNA provides a full range of services emphasizing quality - timeliness - and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The CRNA practices to the full extent of their education - training - and certification. The cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be 09/30/2026 and applicants will only be referred as vacancies arise. Duties Duties will include - but are not limited to: Initiating the anesthetic technique which may include general - regional - local - and IV sedation Selecting - applying - and inserting appropriate non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities for continuous evaluation of the patient's physical status Selecting - obtaining - and administering the anesthetics - adjuvant and accessory drugs - and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic Managing a patient's airway and pulmonary status using current practice modalities Facilitating emergence and recovery from anesthesia by selecting - obtaining - ordering and administering medications - fluids - and ventilator support Discharging the patient from a post-anesthesia care area and providing post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care - as needed Responding to emergency situations by providing airway management - administration of emergency fluids and drugs - and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques Implements acute pain management modalities Fiberoptic bronchoscopy VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package: VA Nurse Total Rewards Pay: Competitive salary - regular salary increases - potential for performance awards Paid Time Off: 50 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave - 13 days of sick leave - 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory Work Schedule: Primarily Monday- Friday - 7:00am-3:30pm (On Call Duties as required) Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Authorized Whole Health is an approach to health care that empowers and equips people to take charge of their health and well-being and live their life to the fullest The VA is committed to Whole Health and values Veteran and Employee health and wellbeing As a VA employee - you will practiceWhole Whole Health in an environment that supports personalized and proactive care. #J-18808-Ljbffr
