This non-exempt job classification is for a mechanic. Management may assign other functions not listed herein at its sole discretion.
Repairing / maintaining equipment as needed, some fabrication.

Construction: Demonstrates basic knowledge of various phases of diverse construction jobs that may include landscape, installation, hardscape, irrigation, pavers, and low-voltage lighting; uses equipment effectively.
Administrative Efficiency: Demonstrates highly-efficient time management skills; adept at multi-tasking to accomplish goals; compiles information for reports; applies support systems to ensure efficiency.
Job Quality: Understands the relationship between job quality and customer service, satisfaction, and retention is committed to improving job quality at all times.
Organization and Planning: Maintains an accurate schedule of events; prioritizes activities correctly to ensure deliverables are produced on time; electronic and hard copy files are systematically arranged and easily retrievable.

An example of the preferred education, training, and/or experience that demonstrates possession of the knowledge, skills, and competencies for this position includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have experience in small equipment as a mechanic.
Frequent sitting, time spent on the telephone, repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and office equipment, standing, bending, and stooping, twisting of waist side-to-side, turning and flexion of the neck; and lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Incumbents must sign the Confidentiality, Non-disclosure, and Non-solicitation Agreement prior to their first day on the job. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are desirable. Work is predominately in a shop environment with associated noise, space, and outside exposure. Also dealing with oil grease and dirt. Candidates are subject to a background investigation and/or drug test.
Incumbents appointed to this job classification will serve an introductory period of three months. The Key Performance Indicators for this position will be specified at the time of appointment.
