About the Position

Job Title: CT Technologist I Profession: Clinical Technicians Specialty: - Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Must meet eligibility requirements for CT Certification (ARRT) to be achieved within 12 months of hire date. Certifications: AHA BLS Must-Have: - Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty; OR - Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty. Description: Under immediate to general supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor, this entry-level position works to achieve the initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The purpose is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. Responsibilities listed are core to the position. Utilizing entry-level knowledge, abilities, skills, and available resources, provides safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care and support services under routine or emergent conditions. Works in a variety of care settings, including acute inpatient facilities, outpatient practices, diagnostic/urgent care centers, and outreach clinics. Prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians. Communicates and collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team. Identifies and implements actions necessary to achieve desired clinical outcomes and operational goals. Utilizes a variety of specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures. Conducts post-procedure review to confirm completion and documentation of all required elements. Ensures that technical quality is consistent with established department protocols and applicable accreditation standards. Transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems. Enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by a physician. Performs operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, high-level disinfecting, and other user maintenance. Participates in continuing education, professional development, and research activities to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements. Demonstrates skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, medical terminology, and patient positioning. Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled. Must be sensitive to patients' physical and psychological needs. Capable of maintaining accurate records and working accurately with names, numbers, and codes. Able to draw conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. Exercises discretion in handling confidential information and sound judgment. Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Possesses ability to understand various operations, policies, and procedures. Effectively communicates with staff, patients, and their families, meeting their needs in a professional and compassionate manner. Exhibits a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently. Able to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail. Core knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, and cardiovascular and/or radiologic technologies. Ability and skill to apply core-level specialty theory, practices, and techniques to perform, post-process, analyze, and annotate study data or procedure documentation.
