Job Details Specialty: Med/Surg Telemetry (Med/Surg Tele) Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry Setting: Mixed-acuity adult and geriatric care Employment Type: Travel Nursing Location: Columbus, OH 43210 Start Date: October 19, 2026 Contract Length: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 Orientation: 72 hours Patient Ratio: 1:5 Floating: Required to float to equivalent or lower-acuity Med/Surg Oncology units Weekend Coverage: Variable based on unit needs Job Requirements Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required Current acute care experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, with recent and consistent experience within the last 12 months Epic charting experience required Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred/required as applicable to the role Experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management Strong experience in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac rhythm management Ability to work with adults and geriatrics in a mixed-acuity hospital environment Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry patients Monitor telemetry, assess cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status Support patients with head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology diagnoses, and brain tumors Perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning, routine trach care, and inner cannula changes Manage drains such as JP and Hemovac systems Administer chemotherapy when indicated and within scope of practice Use strong infection prevention practices and fall-reduction strategies Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, efficient patient care Float to comparable units as needed to support patient care needs Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team Apply now for this Med/Surg Telemetry travel nursing opportunity in Columbus, Ohio, and take the next step in your healthcare career.
