Job Summary And Responsibilities The Tissue Tech is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction in the most cost effective manner, and in a manner consistent with all patient‑related age‑specific competencies. Under the direction of the Laboratory Medical Director and Laboratory Manager, the position is assigned responsibilities not limited to the receipt, handling, processing, cutting, staining, and presentation of tissue and slides to the Pathologist for diagnostic evaluation. Job Requirements Two years experience in the methods and procedures for fixing and processing tissue specimens with use of routine and special stains in a pathology or an acute care facility setting. High School diploma or equivalency. Knowledge of medical terminology.
