Medical Office Specialist Support the daily operations of a community‑based oncology clinic by providing high‑quality clinical and administrative assistance to patients, providers, and staff. Responsibilities Work at the reception desk, greeting patients and ensuring efficient intake. Communicate with patients and providers, scheduling, canceling, and rescheduling appointments. Remind patients of upcoming appointments and track missed appointments. Answer multiple telephones, accurately document messages, and forward calls appropriately. Check in patients, document registration, and verify insurance and patient demographics. File and retrieve medical, patient, and administrative records; deliver records to the correct department or provider. Copy and fax documents, collect co‑pays and cash from patients, and enter charges and payments in the computer. Balance the daily cash and payment totals. Qualifications High School Diploma, preferably a Bachelor’s Degree. At least one (1) year of medical office front desk experience. Knowledge of basic office equipment including copier, fax machine, and computer. Competitive hourly rate of $18/hr – $25/hr.
