Associate Sales Representative

Paragon 28, a Zimmer Biomet company focused on orthopedic medical devices for the Foot and Ankle, is looking for an Associate Sales Representative. The Associate Sales Representative is responsible for attaining direct sales goals and objectives through the creation and execution of a sales plan in the assigned territory. This position requires living within assigned territory.

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining customer relationships, while able to cover orthopedic procedures with clinical proficiency and business acumen.
• Developing and maintaining expertise regarding total product line.
• Educating and informing sales representatives, doctors, nurses, and appropriate staff personnel as to the availability of and the proper use and maintenance of P28 products.
• Preparing detailed weekly and monthly reports of business transactions/interactions.
• Building and implementing sales plans for the assigned territory, managing and tracking customer sales activity and prospective customer initiatives, achieving sales quotas, reporting on sales progress and competitor customer activities to sales leaders.
• Entering new customer data and other sales data for current customer into P28's delegated systems.
• Facilitating on-time delivery of products to customers.
• Managing and maintaining a sample inventory of products.
• Solving product problems for customers in an expeditious fashion.
• Traveling to and attending trade shows, conventions, and/or clinical meetings.
• Planning, coordinating and executing local educational and sales events, with the support of internal resources, intended to augment the business.
• Coordinating customer training.
• Aggressively soliciting orders from present and prospective customers for the products assigned.
• Strictly adhering to all laws and Paragon 28 policies regarding the interaction with Health Care Professionals, product handling and complaints, expense reporting, sales activities and training.
• Keeping respective Direct Sales Representative informed of territory progress on a regular basis.
• Directing product evaluations in OR and office settings.
• Responsible for successful completion of sales training.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Your background should include:

• Bachelor's degree preferred; may consider commensurate experience in lieu of education.
• Prior orthopedic sales experience preferred; and/or ability to learn and understand orthopedic concepts quickly.
• Strong sales aptitude.
• Strong work ethic and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy; position requires use of own vehicle with potential for driving up to 40K miles/year, depending on territory.
• Able to work efficiently and autonomously with little direction when outside of clinical events.
• Residence within the geographical contracted territory of business is required, unless prior approval granted by the Executive VP of Sales and/or CEO.

Work Environment: This position operates from employee's home office. Additionally, employees are routinely required to be present in hospital environments, including operating rooms during surgeries.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with individuals internal and external to the organization. The employee frequently is required to move about the facility. The employee may be required to lift up-to 50 lbs. by themselves.

Additionally, this role requires extended time in hospital operating rooms and therefore requires:

• Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time (can be 8 hours plus), as well as bend/stoop/squat and balance frequently.
• Ability to wear a 7-9 pounds of protective lead apron for extended periods of time in the operating room.
• The employee may be required to lift up-to 50 lbs. by themselves.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel and operating a personal computer.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position; it will require weekend, evening, and holiday work as surgeries require on an emergency basis.

Travel Expectations: 20% overnight travel. Required to attend national meetings, district meetings and other training as requested.

Compensation Data: This is a commission based role with expected earnings from $50,000 to range up $150,000 plus. This position is a draw against commission structure. The employee will receive a guaranteed bi-weekly advance against anticipated commissions. Commissions will be reconciled against the draw on a semi-monthly / monthly basis. If total earned commissions exceed the draw amount, the employee will be paid the excess. If the draw exceeds earned commissions, the resulting deficit will be treated as a recoverable advance and carried forward to be deducted from future commission earnings. In accordance with the New York Minimum Wage Law, the company guarantees that the employee's total compensation for any pay period will equal or exceed the prevailing minimum wage for all hours worked. This position requires a signed, fully executed contract to be valid.
