We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in truck maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, especially those familiar with ready-mix or heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems according to specifications and manuals.
- Inspect and listen to machinery to diagnose malfunctions and determine necessary repairs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal functionality.
- Communicate effectively with shop leadership regarding significant issues and repair progress.
- Operate mobile equipment, including service trucks, to retrieve or service malfunctioning assets.
- Conduct daily preventive maintenance on service vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, fluid checks, and tire/light inspections.
- Service and maintain pumps, motors, and related components as required.
- Weld, repair, and fabricate metal parts or assemblies as necessary.
- Procure repair parts and materials needed to complete maintenance tasks.
- Provide on-site service support at other company plants or job sites when necessary.
- Assist in training and mentoring colleagues to ensure consistent maintenance practices.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace at all times.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- At least one year of experience as a truck mechanic is required.
- Strong understanding of truck mechanics and general maintenance practices.
- Proficient in using power tools, welders, cutting torches, chains, and safety devices.
- Familiarity with standard maintenance procedures, including lockout/tagout and special work permits.
- Competent with computers and maintenance-related software systems.
- Experience with Allison transmissions, Davie 4, and ESA software is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English is essential.
- Must provide personal tools up to ¾-inch drive.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A high school diploma is considered an asset.
- Experience with concrete mixers and aggregate haul trucks is preferred.
- This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Kiowa Plant.
- Regular outdoor work with exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
- Utilization of fine motor skills, including manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination, and active hearing and vision.
- Physical activities include standing, walking, climbing, crawling, kneeling, bending, reaching, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, and pushing or pulling as necessary.
- Regular exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smoke, gases, fumes, and aggregate materials.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, vests, glasses, earplugs, and hard hats is required, with additional PPE for tasks like welding or repairs.
- This position is safety-sensitive and requires successful completion of a PSP, MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug test.
- Travel to various job sites may be required as needed.
The salary for this position starts at $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.
