Role Responsibilities In summary, the Medical Assistant's primary responsibilities include providing direct patient care, handling patient registration, scheduling appointments, and performing various office-related tasks. Certification Requirements American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) American Medical Technologists (AMT) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Failure to provide your certification may lead to disciplinary action, up to termination.
