Equipment Operator (Construction)

JOB DESCRIPTION

The role is responsible for operation and maintenance of the plant. The incumbent will need to operate in a safe and efficient manner following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and process requirements. This role is classified as safety sensitive.

ACTIVITIES/TASKS/SCOPE

Properly follow all company policies and MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment. Responsible for a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers. Greases, performs oil changes and preventative maintenance on equipment. Report all major maintenance problems to Superintendent. Repair and replace conveyor belts when needed. Change plant screens when needed. Maintain plant site and plant with skid steer, shovel, and wash down with hose. Operate small power tools. Operate water truck for dust control of roads. Operate front end loader to feed the plant and load trucks when needed. Responsible for ensuring daily maintenance of plant is completed. Regular attendance is required. 10+ hour days and weekends are common. Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School or Degree or GED required Must be at least 18 years old 2-3 years of experience in plant maintenance preferredMSHA Miner Training preferred

Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools Mathematics Repairing and troubleshooting Equipment maintenance Control precision Manual dexterity Extent flexibility Finger dexterity Near vision

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Ability to effectively verbally communicate Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, climb ladders, reach, grasp, push/pull, twist and lift heavy objects (50 lbs.)

Work is performed in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.
