Customer Service Specialist – Full-Time, In-Office (Portage, MI)
Jeannie Cleaning | 30–40 hours/week | Monday–Friday | No nights, no weekends $20/hour (600–$800/week)

This is a full-time, in-person position at our office at 640 Romence Road in Portage. It is not remote or hybrid. Because our clients and team rely on this role every day, including bad weather days, we're looking for candidates who live near our Kalamazoo/Portage office and can commute reliably year-round.

About the Role

As our Customer Service Specialist, you'll be the voice of Jeannie Cleaning, the first person our clients talk to and the steady hand behind our daily schedule. This role is ideal for a polished, composed professional who genuinely enjoys helping people and takes pride in getting the details right.

Position Details
Reports to: Director of Operations Hours: 30–40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Schedules are assigned weekly, with occasional 7:30 AM openings. Pay: $20/hour (negotiable based on experience) Benefits: Health, dental, vision, and life insurance; paid time off; paid sick time Start Date: ASAP

What You'll Do

• Answer client calls live and respond to emails within one business day, with warmth and professionalism
• Listen carefully to client needs, concerns, and feedback, and resolve issues calmly and thoughtfully
• Make follow-up and satisfaction calls, and share praise or improvement requests with the right team member
• Support new clients by explaining our services, booking consultations, and confirming details before their first cleaning
• Manage daily schedule changes, including call-outs, skips, and reschedules, and communicate them clearly to clients and technicians
• Keep client preferences and job notes accurate in our scheduling software
• Help open or close the office as needed and assist with other administrative duties

Who We're Looking For

• At least 2 years of customer service experience, ideally in a phone- or customer-facing role
• An excellent listener who stays calm, patient, and professional, even with a frustrated client
• Clear, polished verbal and written communication by phone, email, and text
• Highly organized and dependable, able to juggle multiple priorities without dropping details
• Comfortable with technology: email, texting, spreadsheets, Word documents, and web-based software
• Reliable attendance and transportation. Able to commute to the office daily
• Someone who sees this as a career and wants to grow with us
