Citation Lead Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 1147 Full Time • On Site • East Alton, IL, USA • Posted 30+ days ago Responsibilities As a Lead your main focus will be centered on leading a team of technicians to produce timely results that are of the highest quality and accuracy. The role requires strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, a critical mindset and a technical orientation. He or she will effectively utilize manpower, direct project flow and ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standard. Lead the team to complete necessary jobs/tasks, using good judgement and involving the manager when needed. Implement a strong turnover of work to the next shift. Seek opportunities to reduce turnaround time of aircraft. Help to train and mentor technicians assigned to projects. Supervise team members in daily workload. Work independently on projects and lead multiple projects as assigned; schedule and quality are essential. Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems, including removal and installation of panels and components, repair work and sheet metal repair or installation. Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems as designated. Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as designated. Conduct aircraft movement, performance runs and taxiing when required. Maintain and repair shop facilities, equipment and tooling to support operations. Work with customers in project management, pricing and support roles. Communicate effectively and clearly in English. Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Education and Licenses High school diploma or equivalent and an Airframe and Powerplant License are required. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory. Aircraft‑specific factory training is preferred. Experience 8+ years in aviation maintenance preferred. 4+ years in program‑specific airframes. Qualifications Self‑motivated team player able to perform in a fast‑paced environment with deadlines and time constraints. Attends work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments. Reliable transportation to commute daily. Performs all work in accordance with FAA guidelines. Follows all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintains customer‑oriented work habits. Directs the work and flow of multiple projects. Tugs, power carts and other engine‑powered equipment. Personal computer and work order prints. Compensation & Benefits The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $38 and $48. The exact rate depends on location, experience and performance.
