Manufacturing Engineer

Trillium Professional is now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III - Metal Stamping & Process Optimization in Baltimore, MD!


Annual salary up to $135,000/year + 10% Sign-On Bonus (DOE).


Are you a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer who thrives on the production floor? We’re seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer III to drive process improvements, optimize manufacturing operations, and support complex metal stamping and heat treat processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


This is a highly visible role with direct impact on production performance, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives. Approximately 75% of your time will be spent on the shop floor supporting process development, troubleshooting, validation, and optimization.

Responsibilities
-Develop and improve manufacturing processes, methods, and controls to meet quality, productivity, and cost targets
-Troubleshoot production issues and reduce downtime
-Optimize metal stamping, forming, and heat treat processes
-Analyze process flow, plant layout, and equipment utilization to improve throughput and efficiency
-Lead process validation, trial runs, and continuous improvement projects
-Develop and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans
-Support equipment installations, upgrades, commissioning, and vendor coordination
-Analyze production and cost data to identify improvement opportunities
-Ensure compliance with quality standards and manufacturing procedures
-Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive operational excellence
-Support tooling, die, and process development efforts for precision metal components and spring products

Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
-Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a metal fabrication or metal manufacturing environment
-10+ years of experience strongly preferred
-Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with metal stamping and/or heat treat processes
-Extensive knowledge of metal stamping and heat treat manufacturing operations
-Experience with manufacturing process development and optimization
-Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
-Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
-Experience with equipment setup, debugging, validation, and process improvement initiatives
-Strong communication and project coordination skills

Experience from the following industries or similar environments is highly desirable:
-Metal stamping
-Metal forming
-Spring manufacturing
-Belleville spring washer (disc spring) manufacturing
-Precision metal components
-Engineered products manufacturing
-Heat treatment operations
