Field Access Manager - New Orleans

Merck seeks a Field Access Manager to serve as the expert resource on patient access and reimbursement issues for healthcare providers and organizations across the New Orleans region. The role combines remote work with field-based engagement, coordinating across sales, market access, and patient support functions to remove barriers to therapy access.
Responsibilities
- Provide education to healthcare providers on patient access, benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals processes
- Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access across payer types
- Coordinate with access hub and cross-functional teams on individual patient cases and coverage assistance
- Monitor payer trends and maintain expertise on regional and national coverage policies
- Educate field teams and HCP offices on specialty pharmacy issues and product hub programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 7 years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales, operations, or reimbursement
- Strong knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and access processes
- Expert understanding of pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations
- Competent knowledge of hub and patient support program operations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities remotely with 20–25% travel; must reside in New Orleans area
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record; at least 21 years old
