CT Technologist

Job Overview As a CT Technologist, you will perform diagnostic CT examinations, ensuring high quality imaging and patient safety. Shift Details Part‑time (24 hours) Wednesday 7am–7pm Saturday 7pm–7am Location: Northglenn Healthcare Pavilion – Freestanding Emergency Department, Northglenn, Colorado Responsibilities Maintain ARRT or modality‑specific competency in all clinical and technical functions. Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation for exams. Perform exams per department protocol and review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy. Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment. Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assist and instruct students and other CT Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment. Provide appropriate patient education, ensure patient comfort, and address concerns. Practice infection control and sterile techniques. Operate CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images. Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions. Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures. Skills Knowledge of anatomy and image evaluation. Equipment operation and contrast protocols. Emergency response, independent work, teamwork, effective communication. Electronic imaging, task prioritization, cleanliness of environment. Minimum Qualifications American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (RT(R) or equivalent). Radiography certification/registration and relevant state licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers. Preferred Qualifications ARRT Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (RT(CT)). Completion of controlled substance and initial moderate sedation modules. Any facility‑based certifications required. Experience At least 1 year of CT experience. Physical Requirements Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors. Verbal communication to patients and providers, especially during emergencies. Manual dexterity for precise equipment manipulation; frequent computer use and typing. Ability to lift, transfer, bend, carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items. Ability to navigate crowded, busy rooms with equipment and power cords on the floor. May be required to stand for extended periods.
