The Environmental Technician is a dynamic, field-based role, involving independent work at various client sites. Daily routines include conducting on-site assessments, inspections, program development, and various sampling protocols. Customer/client service focus Results oriented Technical capabilities Time Management Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree and/or experience in Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Construction Management field (preferred). Asbestos Site Supervisor, Asbestos Inspector, MN 2-Day Air and NIOSH 582 certifications (preferred). Willingness and ability to obtain the above certifications within 1 year of hire or meet the experience requirements listed below (preferred): 2,000 hours of work experience in general construction trades, asbestos-related work, safety, industrial hygiene, or hazardous materials control; or Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences, engineering, or architecture and 500 hours of work experience in the areas listed above; or Completion of an apprentice program within the general commercial construction trades. Valid driver’s license and reliable source of transportation. Ability to pass a background and motor vehicle check. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel is expected. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls.
