Summary Position will start in Oxnard, CA and relocate to Henderson, NV in February 2027***. Laser Metrology Technician Salary Range $22.00 - $35.00/ Hr. The Laser Metrology Technician is responsible for testing production Haas machines and managing the data that provides the basis for determining Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) codes for government export compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Laser Interferometer Technician will manage the laser testing and the data analysis of production Haas machines for the purpose of maintaining our ECCN database. Responsibilities include: Have a thorough understanding of how to set up and use the Renishaw laser interferometer equipment. Perform laser tests on machines in production in an organized fashion by following a schedule and by coordinating with assembly managers and supervisors to get access to the machines as needed. Analyze data and create standard reports for all machines measured. Store test data on the network, keep the ECCN database updated and accurate, and keep the inside sales group updated in order to maintain the export control data in the SAP material master for each top-level product. Minimum Qualifications Basic mechanical knowledge. 2+ years of experience with CNC machinery, assembly or maintenance. Understands the geometry of a CNC machine and its effects on machining. Reads and understands blueprints. Experience using Excel and SAP. Experience analyzing and interpreting data. Preferred Qualifications Education One-year certificate from college or technical school is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Major Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 years Language Skills Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and safety rules; such as work instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Must be able to effectively present information to the following: in a one‑on‑one setting or small group situations for our customers, clients, and/or other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. May need to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Must have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions such as mathematical and/or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
